Maritime Wissenschaftliche Netzwerktagung 'Dreizack 18'

Editorial note: "Der Dreizack" (literally: "The trident") is the title of an interdisciplinary workshop aimed at providing an academic platform for political scientists, historians, legal experts, and sociologists from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and abroad related to maritime strategy and security. It includes recent graduates, PhD candidates and young professionals as well as senior analysts, both military and civilian. The conference is conducted in German.

Nachwuchswissenschaftler und Erfahrungsträger trafen sich vom 21. Februar bis 23. Februar zum Dreizack 2018. Die zweite Durchführung der maritimen Netzwerktagung fand in Wien statt und wurde von Austria Institut für Europa- und Sicherheitspolitik (AIES) ausgerichtet.

The German Maritime Academy (Deutsche Maritime Akademie), a foundation of the German Maritime Federation (Deutscher Marinebund e.V.), promotes knowledge of the importance of the sea, shipping, the maritime industry and policy in Germany.

The Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University (ISPK) provides research, analysis and commentary on conflicts and strategic issues. ISPK is committed to furthering the security policy discourse in Germany and abroad by way of focused, interdisciplinary, policy-oriented research.
